SYNOPSIS
The Real McCoy is a documentary about Damian McCoy's tragic past and his determination to use his life in a positive way by becoming an actor. Despite developing hemiplegia cerebral palsy after his first car accident at the age of 3, Damian doesn't allow his disability to slow him down and is steadfast to make his body and voice be his instrument for his art even after surviving a second car accident which claimed the life of his mother.
NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOR
"As a director and producer, I feel the voices of people like Damian McCoy are meant to not only make us be aware of other people's stories but to create a conversation and reflection on the position people with disabilities have within our society and why they shouldn't be dismissed. They are a force of such strong will power and resilience, we will be inspired to live better lives ourselves."
