ABOUT AMANDA KAYE

Amanda Kaye is an award-winning Writer, Director, and Producer based in Brisbane, Australia. Her work has screened at festivals qualifying for the Academy Awards, BAFTA, and Canadian Screen Awards. She began her career as a production manager on documentary features and mini-series before creating her own content in 2019.
Her short films Norm (2019), Good Times and That’s Okay (2022), and Even If I Wanted To (2023) have received multiple awards. Good Times and That’s Okay enjoyed a two-year festival run with screenings at St Kilda, Cambridge, DeadCentre, and Santa Monica. Even If I Wanted To was endorsed by acclaimed academic Orna Donath, and Norm featured in Bloody Bites Season 12 in January 2025. Her latest short, Appetite of a Nobody (2025), world premiered at Fantastic Fest.
Amanda’s debut feature Cut Sick was selected for the 14th Biennale College Cinema – International Call (2025/26), a competitive development program run by La Biennale di Venezia.
She has collaborated with leading filmmakers including Tristan Barr, David Gim, Ashley Burgess, Sandra Sciberras, Peter Hegedus, Douglas Watkin, and Jeff W. Tseng, and is a long-time creative partner at Continuance Pictures and filmbarr. She has also served as a judge for the 2024 St Kilda Film Festival and 2025 Sparrowland Short Film Festivals.
