ABOUT AMANDA KAYE

Amanda Kaye is an award-winning Writer, Director, and Producer based in Brisbane, Australia. Her work has screened at prestigious festivals qualifying for the Academy Awards, BAFTA, and Canadian Screen Awards. Amanda began her career as a production manager for feature films and mini-series before transitioning to creating her own content in 2019.
Since then, her short films Norm (2019), Good Times and That’s Okay (2022), and Even If I Wanted To (2023) have garnered numerous awards. Good Times and That’s Okay has enjoyed a two-year festival run, with screenings at St Kilda Film Festival, Cambridge Film Festival, DeadCentre, and Santa Monica. Even If I Wanted To has been endorsed by renowned academic Orna Donath, and Norm will be featured in Bloody Bites Season 12, streaming in January 2025.

Amanda has collaborated with acclaimed filmmakers including Sandra Sciberras, Peter Hegedus, and Douglas Watkin, and is a long-time creative partner of Tristan Barr and David Gim from Continuance Pictures. She currently works alongside Barr at filmbarr, where they are developing several exciting new projects. In addition to her filmmaking work, Amanda serves as a film judge for the 2024 St Kilda Film Festival and the 2025 Sparrowland Short Film Festival.
